bring back the Roller Disco
Everybody is having 18ths......tomorow is a fancy dress party...next mate who is having one wants a Cowboys & Indians party......everyones having themed parties. theme parties are fun no doubt, but somehow they just dont fill that hole.....the hole...only a Roller Disco can fill.
so my 18th will come up in a few months and ive decided to have a Roller Disco because well....who can possibly have a bad time at a Roller Disco. finding a venue however is more than just tricky. i remember back when i first moved to the bay, there was a Roller Rink that i used to go to a bit. it then got replaced by a Go-Kart track. how the Go-Karts can possibly be more popular than a Roller Rink is beyond me, but somehow it is. i start searching the net for Roller Rinks around the Newcastle area and much to my dismay, there is none. Yellow Pages....if anyones going to have them listed, it'll be in the Yellow Pages. well there is, but its up at Forster, and this....this is just not good enough. how can there be no Roller Rink in Newcastle.....what has happend to our society, that we are no longer interested in a Roller Disco. when i mentioned the idea to my mates, everyone was keen....we cant possibly be the only ones.
who wouldnt love a Roller Disco, scooting around on Roller Skates in too tight flares with crazy hair.....what could possibly be more fun.
if i do nothing else in my life but open up a Roller Disco and bring back the friday and saturday night boogie sessions, i will die happy and content that i have done the world a favour by providing them with the facility to have a Roller Disco. i just hope i can find a facility to hold my own Roller Disco, in time for my 18th.
