Vains Of Jenna
if you miss bands like Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Guns N Roses, Johnny Crash or Sleeze Beez, and you desperately want to hear move good 'ol hard sleaze rock, look no further than Vains Of Jenna. A Swedish band from Frankenburg (latter relocating to California), grew up listening to Crue, Guns N Roses and the Rolling Stones which all blended together, giving Vains Of Jenna a unique sound, while still keeping true to their Sleaze Rock revival roots. After producing demo's with former Guns n Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, they latter signed to Bam Margera's Filthy Note Records, producing their first full length album Lit Up/Let Down.
this album is one of the most electric albums i have heard lately, incorporating all that was good from the 80's glam/hard rock era and reviving it, into the new wave of Sleaze Rock. along with bands like Daniel Lioneye (sleaze rock side project of the band HIM), Crashdiet, Towers Of London and to some extent, The 69 Eyes, Vains Of Jenna continue to revive the genre, breathing life into those old fans who had lost hope in ever seeing quality sleaze rock again.
Their début album is, put simply a riot from start to finish, one song rocks on into another, each different but each as good as the last.
this is a definite buy for those fans out there looking for new Sleaze/Hard/Glam metal/rock from young bands with the life and energy that old bands from the original era don’t possess any more.
